4 students sat at a segregated lunch counter in Greensboro, North Carolina. Students were called names, beaten, spat on, food poured on them, and arrested. However they kept fighting. They continued to sit at counters.

The goal was to intergrate bus services. In Birmingham, Alabama freedom riders were pulled from the bus by the police and members of the KKK, and beaten.In Montgomery the blacks were supposed to be protected yet a mob of of KKK members beat up passangers (which the police allowed.)

MLK lead a peaceful protest in Alabama. He was trying to get the president's attention. Which he did- millions watched the protest on tv. He was in the city most known for segregation, after 8 days MLK was arrested. Protests continued and police got violents and arrested 600.
