    How filming started!

    Filming started when a group of very wealthy people made a $25,000 dollar bet on an issue of horse's feet not being on the ground at some point of time while running. (Mybridge) To test this theory, they took a rapid amount amount of pictures of a horse running! As they watched they saw that the horse looked as if the horse was actually running and thus the idea was born! :)

    Once they all realized how to create a still images they soo created a gadget to do so callllllled!!! The Kinetiscope!!! :D
    However only one person could watch it at a time and you had to look at it with one eye because the peephole was so tiny.

  • The projector was created

    The Lumiere brothers in France did first what intially Thomas Edison didn't want to do. The Brothers created the projector, a motion picture screen that was made for an audience.

  • The first US narrative film

    The first ever US narrative film was created by Edwin Porter in 1903. It was called "The Great Train Robbery".
    It had a real story line involving cross cutting camera changes as well as distances and was 14 scenes, lasting 12 minutes.

    Known as "America's Sweetheart" Mary Pickford was a famous actor and considered one of the 36 founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
  • What was the first movie ever filled in California? In Old California!

    In Old California is a silent movie filmed in 1910. It was the first movie shot in Hollywood, California. It was directed by D. W. Griffith of the Biograph Company
  • The Switch for HolleYWood!

    In 1910, not only had the city of Los Angeles annexed Hollywood, but there were already at least 10 movie companies operating in the city. By 1921, more than 80 percent of the world's film industry was concentrated in L.A!! :)
  • Nicklelodian theatres

    Thomas Edison formed a trust called "Motion Pictures Patents to control things such as the production of raw film, stock, projection equipment and film distribution and exhibiton.(Technically everything Motion picture.

    The first studio in Hollywood, the Nestor Company, was established by the New Jersey–based Centaur Company in a roadhouse at 6121 Sunset Boulevard at the corner of Gower, in October 1911

    Nester Studios was the first ever studio ever in Holleywood. It was Established by the New-Jersey based Centaur Company!
  • Charlie Chaplin

    Charlie Chaplin is another famous actor during the early days of filming. He played in varous amount of silent film and soon became known as a "Comic Genuis"
  • The HolleyWood Hall of Fame

    Hollywood Walk of Fame was created in 1958 as a tribute to artists and other significant contributors to the entertainment industry. The official opening was on February 8, 1960
