Verity - colleen hoover

  • Bookdeal meeting

It turns out that Jeremy and Lowen were heading to the same meeting. In this meeting Lowen gets an offer to finish the books of the famous writer Verity (she couldn't finish them due to an accident). At first Lowen politely declines it, but Jeremy eventually talks her into taking the offer. He turned out to be the husband of Verity and tells her that two of their children, two little girls, both recently have passed away.
  • Meeting of Lowen and Jeremy

Lowen and Jeremy first meet at the crossover of a road. Just in front of them a man got hit by a truck, all his blood was plashed over Lowen. Jeremy helps her getting clean in a coffee shop nearby, among other things by offering her, his shirt.
In a short conversation they share the loss of a dear one. Jeremy recently lost his daughter, because she drowned in a lake. Lowen recently lost her mom to cancer.
After the conversation they both leave to go to their work.
  • Lowen goes to Jeremy's home

Jeremy invited her over to their house so she could look through Verity's note for her next three books. Lowen thinks its a bit strange, but she still accepts the offer.
When she arrives at the house she is welcomed by Jeremy and their son crew. Soon she is being lead to her bedroom, she sees Verity -which shocks her- and to Verity's former study/work room. In the work room she discovers some sort of autobiography of Verity, which she immediately start to read.
  • Lowen began to read Verity biography

Lowen begins to read the book 'so be it' from Verity. A little further in the book Verity starts to explain how she and Jeremy met, they married and got pregnant. But she didn't want Jeremy to love the twins (of which she was pregnant at the time) more than her. So she tries to get a miscarriage multiple times, unfortunately for her, they don't work.
Lowen is shocked and can't believe what she is reading. She begins to wonder what really happened to the girls...
  • A strange cut

Lowen hears a scream coming from upstairs, she runs towards the scream and sees that crew is bleeding with a knife in his hand. Crew said that Verity told him he wasn't supposed to use the knife.
Lowen is confused, because Verity couldn't move? right? After cleaning the wound she comes back to get the knife, but its gone .....
  • A terrifying night

Lowen wakes up the next morning, but not in her usual spot. SHE IS LYING IN BED WITH VERITY. Lowen freaks out and runs out of her room. She runs into Jeremy and tells him all about her sleep walking, the cut on her hand and that she is afraid that she will do it again. Jeremy suggests to make a lock on her door, so that this would not happen again.
  • Lowen's birthday

Lowen has been in the house for over two weeks now, she feels like she really is settling in and the book is starting to get somewhere.
At night Lowen and Jeremy even get a little intimate, but Lowen immediately stops when she thinks that Verity is standing in the doorway. To reassure herself that it isn't her she goes to Verity's bedroom, where she is lying peacefully in her bed.
  • Suspicion

Lowen and Jeremy where together in her bedroom sleeping, but when she tried to get out she noticed that the door was locked. Who could have done this? She says it could have been crew, but what if it was Verity?
She gradually draws more suspicion towards Verity and her 'condition'. To make sure Verity isn't faking anything, she decides to put up a camera in Verity's room.
  • Plottwist

Lowen once again sees Verity doing something she shouldn't be able to do, however Jeremy doesn't believe her. Therefore she lets him read Verity's biography. After reading the biography Jeremy is furious. He goes to Verity's room and forces her - with violence - to speak, eventually she does. At least she tries to, because Jeremy is so angry that he tries to strangle her. Lowen warns him that they should make it look like an accident, so he won't get arrested. So he does and Verity passes away.
  • A happy family?

Lowen is pregnant with Jeremy and together with crew they are starting a new live North Carolina. They just have to get some stuff from the old house and leave. However Lowen finds a letter in Verity's bedroom. In letter Verity explains all that happened and that her autobiography just a way of 'getting into character' was. She would never kill her children, furthermore SHE didn't drive into a tree, it was Jeremy that did it and made it look like an accident.
Lowen is too stunned to speak.
  • What to believe?

Lowen decides to destroy the letter and leave it all behind. But what do you think is true? The autobiography, in which Verity was an evil psycopath, killed her children, because she wanted Jeremy to love her more than anything?
Or the letter, in which Verity was anything but that. That the autobiography was just a writing practice, that it was Jeremy who drove her into the tree and that the death of their children was, in fact, an accident?
