    The battles was one of the first battles of the French and Indian War. This was the only battle that George Washington surrendered militarily. This was George's first military action for a battle. Because of the defeat in this battle, it made a disatrous start to the French and Indian War, along with other choices George makes along the way but he gets experienced with fighting in battles.

Americans wanted to get financial or military support from other countries. The most famous line in the Declaration is, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

"By 1777 members of Congress realized that they should have some clearly written rules for how they were organized." Because of this The Articles Of Confederation were passed in November by the Congress. The Articles would not be used or followed by all the states until 1781. Congress had more power over basically everything, like money issues, political ideas, who has a say in what, etc.

After George Washington became President, the first factory was ready to start work. The first factory had 72 spindles and was producing by the children. This factory was used to create spindles of yarn. Shortly after more and more factories were created for different types of work by all men, women, and children.

Throughout the 1700s cotton was expensive because of the huge amount of labor they needed to pick the seeds. Now the cotton is more profitable because more and more are being produced each year. Because of Whitney's invention, the cotton industry became a success.

The main focus of the Manifest Destiny was culturally and racially. Usuallt the Native Americans were the ones to be "inferior" but the Hispanics also thought like that with themselves. The forigners ruled most og the United States and this is why the Americans "needed" a "destiny" because they needed to believe that they can get their land from coast.

    During the war America started out with 8,000 but soon 60,000 volunteers had joined. The American Navy took major control over the seas. The government and economy were very stable and helped throught with the war. The United States had won the war and now Mexico had signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848. The United Stated recieved the lands of New Mexico, California, and the Texan Territory.

Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis both believed they were fighting with the spirit of the Declaration Of Independence on their side. The Abolonitionists believed their cause was justified according to God's will. The Southern Legalists defended their rights as they saw them outlined The Constitution.

After two attempts of kidnapping him he finally killed the President a day later. He also went after the Vice President and Secretary of State. Once done, Booth fleed to the direction of Virginia and two weeks later Union cavalry trapped Booth in a tobacco barn that was set on fire where he died. Licoln was burried back home.

Post Civil War the people were in pain and had so many questions. Even though the war finally ended, the reconstructionizing the states was waged but radical northerners who wanted to punish the south. Slavery ended right when the war did too. After this the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments were created.

    Slavery was big in Southern U.S. By 1860 the estimated number of black slaves free from the south was 1.5 million. Through the 1800s slaves bought their freedom but that died down through time. "Many slaves became free through manumission, the voluntary emancipation of a slave by a slaveowner." Just becuase the black slave were considered "free" doesn't mean that they have the same rights as the white people.

    http://www.ushistory.org/us/35c.aspAndrew Johnson was the first President to be impeached. The Republican House of Representatives brought 11 articles of impeachment against Johnson. They basically just wanted to get rid of him. Congress passed the Reconstruction act and Edwin Stanton (secretary of war) was charged with enforcing. Johnson opposed the act and tried to remove Stanton, but that is violation of the Tenure of Office Act. Johnson dodged a bullet and got to finish his term. 130 years will be another impeachment.
