    African Americans moved north starting the Great Migration. African American culture was brought out in the Harlem Reniassance.

    The ship called the Lusitania was sunk by a German u-boat. 1,198 passengers were killed. The boat was carrying ammunition for the war.
  • War Declared on Germany

    War Declared on Germany
    Congress declared a war on Germany which turned out to be one of the bloodiest battles in history
  • Great Depression

    Great Depression
    The stock market crashed.
  • WWII

    WWII
    War was declared on Gemany and WWII was started.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor killing almost 3,000 Americans. Six battleships were destroyed or could not be used, and most of the ground planes were destroyed.

    Germans surrendered to the Allied forced. It ended the Holocaust.

    The bomb on Hiroshima was dropped. On August 9, 1945, the second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki.

    North Korea crossed over the 38th parallel into South Korea and started the Korean War.
  • Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr.

    Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr.
    Rosa Parks started the revolution by not giving up her seat to a white man on the bus. She was arrested and fined $10 for not giving up her seat. Soon after, Martin Luther King Jr. came to ignight the rest of the black community into rebellion.

    The Soviet Union launched the first artificial satalight into space and shocked Americans.

    Hippies came and displayed new attitudes towards drugs and sex, communal lifestyles, and innovations in food, fashion, and music.

    He claimed an undue tax burden, excessive government regulation, and massive social spending programs hampered growth. Reagan proposed a phased 30% tax cut for the first three years of his Presidency.
