    The Soviet Union and Germany enter a pact to partition Poland. The "Non-agression Pact".

    Italy declares war on France and Great Britain.

  • WWII Japan

    The Japanese launch an attack on the United States in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

  • WWII finished

    The United States drop the Hydrogen bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, officially ending the war between Japan and the US.

  • The United Nations

    The United Nations met officially for the first time in San Francisco, California.

  • North Korea

    After being annexed by Japan, the Northern half of the peninsula came under Soviet-sponsered communism.
