    The Years of the Revolutionary War

    The Revolutionary War was caused because of an American victory and European recognition of the independence of the United States which mixed the results for the other powers. The war was originally between Great Britian and the Thirteen Colonies but spread and became a world wide war. France, Spain and the Dutch Republic all secretly provided supplies for the revolutionaries early in 1776.
  • The Signing of the Declaration of Independence

    This day was one of the most important days of America. This was the day we declared our indpendence from the British Empire and we formed a new nation that is known as the United States of America. Fifty-six delegates signed the Declaration of Independence and led us into war with Great Britian but we are now an idependent country.

    Ratification of the United States Constitution

    The 1786 Annapolis Convention recommended the calling of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. The process of drafting and ratifying the United States Constitution took almost four years. The timeline documents important events in that process.
  • Fugitive Slave Act

    Fugitive Slave Act
    The fugitive slave act allowed slave owners to come and get their escaped slaves without needing an arrest warrant. The act made the north made because they had to help recapture the slaves. There were penalties for the people who didn't get the runaway slaves. Even though the law would be broken, the people wouldn't listen to it and the fugitive slave act made more people to the abolitionist movement.

    The Bleeding Kansas
    The Bleeding Kansas was started when Nebraska drafted a bill to organize their territory. The bill was eventually passed despite the angered opponents of slavery. When 5,000 residents that neighbored Missouri came and voted illegally abolitionists went into war against the government. The war went on for 3 years and the territory came to be known as "Bleeding Kansas".
  • The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln

    Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President who served from March 1861 till April 1865 when he was assassinated. Lincoln was the first president to be assassinated though Andrew Jackson's assassination been atempted 30 years before Lincoln's was actually planned and carried out. Lincoln was killed while watching the play Our Two American Cousins with his wife Mary Todd Lincoln at the Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C..

    Mark the years of World War I

    More then 9 million people died in combat in this war and this war was the fifth deadliest conflict in history. There were only two allies and they were based on the Triple Entente of the United Kingdom, France and the Russian Empire. Italy was also a member of the Triple Alliance alongside Germany and Austria-Hungary, it didn't join against the terms of the alliance.
  • The Stock Market Crash of 1929

    In the late October in 1929 many markets stock were crashing. This was the most devastating stock crash in the history of the United States. The devastating crash signaled the Great Depression and did not end till the end of 1941.
  • The First Appearance of Superman in Action Comics

    Action Comics #1 was the first issue of the comic book series. It features the first apperance of several comic book heroes including Superman. It is the most valuable comic book and goes for 2 million for the original copy.

    World War 2

    30,000 out of 40,000 men working on U-Boats didn't return. Word War 2 took place because Germany invaded Poland and soon after the U.S. intervened. The war ended when Hitler committed suicide.
  • Japan's Attack on Pearl Harbor

    On December 7, 1941 the Japanese launched a suprise military attack on the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The attack was launched to prevent any interference with military actions. All eight U.S. Navy battleships were damaged and 2,402 Americans were killed and 1,282 wounded.
  • The dropping of the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima

    The atomic bombs were conducted by the United States towards the cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan in the finale stages of World War ll in 1945. The firebombing destroyed many Japanese cities and the allies costly prepared invasions for Japan. Within the first 2-4 months of the bombings the effects killed 90,000–166,000 people in Hiroshima and 60,000–80,000 in Nagasaki with half of the deaths occurring on the first day in each of the cities.

    The Years of the Korean War

    The Korean War was a war betwwen South Korea and North Korea because of the political division of Korea by an agreement of the allies of the conclusion of the Pacific War at the end of World War II. The Korea was ruled by the Empire of Japan from 1910 till the end of World War II.

    The Years of the Vietnam War

    South Vietnam, China and other allies supported the U.S.. The U.S. goverment viewed American involvement in the war to prevent a communist takeover of South Vietnam. U.S. military involvement ended on 15 August 1973 because of the Case–Church Amendment passed by the U.S. Congress.
  • The Inauguration of John F. Kennedy

    John F. Kennedy was our 35th president. The inauguration marked commencement of the term of Kennedy as president until he was assassinated on November 22, 1963. The inauguration went very well and persuaded more soldiers to serve in the war and this is known as one of the best in the U.S. history.
  • The March on Washington

    Martin Luther King Jr gave his "I Have a Dream Speech" in support of equal rights for all black and whites. This was one of the biggest political rallies in the United States. Numbering to 200,000 to 300,000 participants this was one of the important days in the U.S. history.
  • The First Appearance of Spider-Man in Comics

    Spider-man is a fictional character that was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and writer-artist Steve Ditko in Marvel Comics. Spider-man was an orphan raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben and as a teenager he becomes a costumed crimefighter. Spider-man started with a teenager high school student named Peter Parker.
  • The First Super Bowl between the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs

    The First AFL-NFL World Championship Game was played by the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The first World Championship Game now known as the Superbowl was played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. The Green Bay Packer defeated the Kansas City Chiefs by the score of 35–10.
  • The First Inauguration of Ronald Reagan

    Ronald Reagan our 40th president had his first inauguration on January 20, 1981. And on that same day 52 American hostages that were being held captive in Iran after 444 days were released. On this day was an important day because of the release of the hostages and the first inauguration was taken place for Ronald Reagan.
  • The Explosion of the Challenger Space Shuttle

    After 73 seconds Space Shuttle Challenger broke apart killing all 7 crew members. The spacecraft landed off the coast of Floridia at 11:38 EST. The time of death of the crew is unknow but several members of the crew survived but were unable to escape because there was no escape system so when it hit the water it was to violent for any of them to survive.

    On September ll, 2001 terrorists attacked the World Trade Center in New York City. 4 planes were hijacked by a group of Islamic terrorists. On this day almost 3,000 people died and on this attack shocked the whole country.
  • The First Inauguration of Barack Obama

    Barack Obama set a record attendance for any event held in Washington, D.C.. This marked Barack Obama's 4th term as president and Joe Biden as vice president. This was one of the most viewed events combined by attendance numbers, television viewers, and the Internet.

    My mom kicked my dad out of the house because they were having trouble. He left after telling us he was leaving and he stayed at my grandparent's house with them. This was the day that was really important and everything changed.
  • Uncle Tom's Cabin

    Uncle Tom's Cabin
    The author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Harriet Breecher Stowe, was enraged at the fugitive slave act, so she wrote about the cruelty of slavery. The book is about an escaped slave and her baby who escaped across the Ohio River.
