Najmah escapes out of Torkhum by getting into a truck full of pears. -
Najmah arrives in Peshawar
Najmah arrives in peshawar and gets out of the truck of pears to almost get caught by the guard who is guarding the truck. -
Najmah meets Nusrat
Najmah meets Nusrat for the first time and Nusrat lets Najmah live with her. She also lets Najmah study with the other kids in her school. -
Najmah speaks for the first time after the death of her mother and brother.
After her uncle comes looking for Najmah and Nusrat doesn't allow them to come in, she trusts Nusrat enough to speak to her. -
Najmah is reunited with Nur
When they are reunited, Najmah tells Nur how her baby brother was born and how he and his mother died. Nur tells Najmah how Baba-jan was killed and how he survived. -
Nusrat finds out what happened to Faiz, her husband.
Nur tells Nusrat what he heard about her husband. He heard that there was an accidental bombing in the village where Nusrat's husband was staying. He heard that a medical clinic was destroyed and the a doctor died. Faiz was the only doctor in that village so Nusrat believed it was him who died.
