Adolf Hitler is one of the most infamous leaders in history who lead the Germans with dictatorial powers to war. He helped Germany get back off its feet and helped re-strengthen the country. Furthermore, he was originally appointed because of fears of communist uprisings in the area.

Germany invades Poland because they want to expand and gain more land to gather more resources and make Germany stronger. Furthermore, Britain and France, who were allied with Poland, decide to declare war on Germany.

The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in Hawaii because the U.S. wasn't giving them the resources they wanted and needed. This devastating event forced the U.S. to declare war on Japan and join World War II. American losses were significant on this day, and Japanese losses were almost none.

The invasion of Normandy, France brought together the land, air, and sea forces of the allied armies in what become known as the largest invasion force in human history. It was a direct assault on Nazi Germany's "Fortress Europe" for a final victory to end the war against the Germans.

The U.S. wanted to speed up the end of the war, so they decided to test out their new bombs. On August 6th, 1945, an American B-29 bomber dropped the world's first deployed atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The explosion immediately killed 80,000 people and killed more later due to radiation poisoning.

Only a few days after the U.S. dropped a bomb on Hiroshima, they dropped another atomic bomb on Nagasaki. Nagasaki was a port city full of civilians and this second bomb was even more powerful than the last. This second atomic bomb killed thousands more, around 40,000 not including the deaths from radiation poisoning. The final gigantic radioactive explosion forced Japan to surrender and officially ended World War II.
