    1.Containment-when the U.S. was trying to stop communism from spreading.
    2.Arms Race/Space Race-U.S. and USSR were competition by nuclear weapons and to see who would be the first to reach the moon.
    3.USSR-one of the biggest, most influential republics
    4.Communism-political and economic ideology where the property is public and people work and are given things according to their needs.
    5.Domino Theory-When a political event in one country might have similar effects in neighboring countries.

    U.S. policy that gave military and economic aid to countries threatened by communism

  • Berlin Airlift-when the U.S. helped bring food, water and other supplies to the citizens.

    program to help European countries rebuild after World War II

  • Korean War was when North and South Korea split because they had different ideas to lead their country.

  • Camp David Accords are an agreement for a peace treaty between Israel and Egypt signed by the Egyptian President and Israeli Prime Minister

  • Iran Hostage Crisis was when Iran took 52 American Diplomats for 444 days

  • Iran Contra Affair was when the US Government sent weapons secretly to an enemy and sent financial aid to a rebel force
