    Lewis and Clark Journal Entries

    Lewis and Clark come into contact with the Nez Perce or "pierced noses" not far South of where Twin Peaks is located. (Sept. 20, 1805). Clark was led to meet chief Twisted Hair (Possibly at the Great Northern location). Lewis heads to make camp. (Sept 21, 1805).
  • Lewis Writes to President Jefferson

    Talks about "White People" (White Lodge People). living near the falls. They also speak of 3 artifacts that the Natives had from there. 2 they didn't understand what they were. The other was A Jade Ring with a design of an owl on it. Nez Pearce worship the Lodges. Lewis has a secret mission from Jefferson that the lodges may be connected to. Also told never to wear the ring only to carry it. Lewis heads North to investigate further. There is a 6 day gap in the L&C journal during this period.

    Confirms Lewis' mission to find out more about the Northern Tribes religious beliefs. Jefferson talks about Lewis' letter regarding his trip to the lodge. Lewis talks about how he saw lots of gold, colors unimaginable, fires that don't consume, etc. (White Lodge? Heaven?). He also talks about "lights in the sky" (Aliens?).
  • Lewis Starts the St. Louis Lodge of the Freemasons

  • Lewis Makes his way to Washington DC

    Lewis tries to bring important papers regarding the Corps of Discovery and deliver evidence of corruption in the Louisiana Territory to the new President James Madison.
  • Lewis Killed

    Lewis killed while staying in an inn in TN. Neely takes control of Lewis possessions and buries him. Neely now has the Jade Ring. Neely claims to Jefferson that the death was caused by suicide but based on the reports of the Archivist Lewis was murdered.
  • Original Russell Letter

    Talks about Lewis being his normal self and paints Lewis in a good light. Says that he seemed fine at Fort Pickering and in his right mind. Then also claims that Lewis was murdered. Never mentions suicide attempts or being out of his mind.
  • James Neely Disappearance

    After Lewis' family found out Neely took Lewis' possessions they look to get them back. Neely flees and ends up disappearing for several months. (Possibly due to the Jade Ring).
  • Forged Second Russell Letter

    Gilbert Russell's letter reinforces the idea that Lewis was suicidal when he talks about his attempts on his life before making it to Fort Pickering, drinking problems, and financial issues. Lewis also tried to take his life at the fort and Russell locks him up until he gets his senses about him. After Lewis regains his mind he is free to continue on his travel to Nashville. Letter forged by Wilkinson.
  • U.S. Congressional Inquiry into Lewis' Death

    Statue was created for Lewis at his grave. His body was dug up and examined to determine that a he was murdered. Also Mrs. Grinner's testimony talked about Lewis begging for water in the moonlight but there was no moon that night. The wounds don't match a suicide attempt.

    Owl Cave Writings (Author Unknown)

    Two men find the cave with help of a Native map. One of the men was named Denver Bob. The two are looking for gold. Found a cave painting on the walls of a map of the Twin Peaks area. See TP Notes for more information breaking down the map. They also encounter the giant owl in the cave. These writings were found in the Spokane Masonic Temple.
  • Chief Joseph's Speech to his People to Retreat

    Summer 1877. Chief Joseph talks about making his way to the White Lodge. He goes to meet with the Great Spirit Chief. Archivist relates this back to ancient relationships with "sky people"
  • Nez Pearce Surrender

    Chief Joseph who was apparently given powers by the lodge to move through mountains and create clouds of smoke to help navigate his people through the area away from the soldiers was captured by General Howard after a man named Jeremiah "Liver Eating" Johnson helped them to cut off Chief Joseph. He surrenders. They were brought to a reservation in Oklahoma. Chief Joseph fights for the rights of his people for the next 31 years. Johnson warns of a reckoning for taking Nez Perce territory.
  • Owl Cave Writings Found

    The writings were found by loggers in 1879 at an abandoned campsite. The rifle mentioned was also found but has since been lost. No human remains found at the scene. Seemingly these writings was from Denver Bob Hobbes and Wayne Chance. They were never seen after this. This is seemingly the first time non-natives discovered the Owl Cave. It was made by volcanic activity in the area a long time ago.
  • Chief Joseph made his Plea for Freedom

    Chief Joseph pleas with the government to allow his people to be free to go where they want and be equal.
  • Nez Pearce Gain the Right to Move to Washington

    Nez Pearce are sent back to Washington State to live. They had to live among 2 other broken tribes and were never able to live on their homeland in the Wallowa Valley ever again.
  • Martell Family Mill

    A family of French trappers that had been in the area about 50 years before the Packard family and started their mill 3 years before the Packard family arrived. The Martell family couldn't compete with the Packard Mill and tensions grew between the families.
  • Packard Family Start in Twin Peaks

    James Packard left Harvard and moved to Twin Peaks laying claim to 10,000 acres of land around White Tail Falls in 1890 due to the riches that can be made from the natural resources of the area. Once a rail line was established from the Packard Mill into Spokane the town of Twin Peaks started to grow around the mill.
  • Night of the Burning River

    The Packard and Martell families fight for control of the logging in the area. A logjam in the river caught fire and it burned for 7 days and nights killing 8 people.
  • Horne Family in Twin Peaks

    Orville Horne arrives in 1905 hearing of the timber industry in the area and opens a general store that dominates the competition of the area.
  • Martell v. Packard

    Ersel Martell along with the help of Jean Jacques Renault got into a fight with Thomas Packard. Nobody is sure what started it but it ended with a knife fight and Thomas barely alive. Renault was the one that did it but made his way back across the Canadian border so he couldn't be arrested. This is when he starts the infamous Renault Gang. Ersel got brought in on accessory to assault. Ersel was sentenced to 3 years of prison. Thomas made a full recovery.

    Fred Crisman

    Fought in WWII. Involved in multiple undercover CIA operations. Suggests he was involved in undercover missions in the Korean War and with the strange sightings of UFOs. Also potentially involved as one of the three tramps on the grassy knoll during JFK assassination. Crisman used his role as a teacher as an alias to cover up his dealings. Crisman died Dec. 10, 1975.
  • Horne's Department Store

    The Horne General Store changes into Horne's Department Store after the business booms over the 15 years.

  • Andrew Packard Article for Twin Peaks Gazette

    Andrew Packard (Boy Scout) and Dwayne Milford (Scout Leader) go into Glastonbury Grove finding the pool of sludge that leads to the Black Lodge. Also saw one of the Giants and captured a photograph of one of his footprints.
  • Martell Sells to Packard

    At the worst of the Great Depression the Martell family sold off the last of its old timber. The spring of 1934 Zebulon Martell sells the family's land and logging rights to the Packard family on his deathbed.
  • Double R Diner Opened

    Marty Lindstrom (father of Norma) opened the Double R after being a railroad worker for many years. Originally known as the Railroad Diner.
  • Martell Mill Torn Down

    Packard hired all of the Martell Mill workers to work on his own mill after buying the Martell Mill. He did this to establish a peace between the two families. In 1939 the Martell Mill was torn down.
  • Bookhouse Boys

    Bookhouse Boys form in the 1940s as the threat of attack to come from North of the border the Bookhouse Boys defended the border until war was declared after Pearl Harbor where a lot of those same men would enlist and some even die during the war. Once the war was over the Bookhouse Boys remained as they look to help the community. The Bookhouse Boys get their name from their meeting place which was an old 1 room schoolhouse. Original Bookhouse Boys spearheaded by Sherriff Frederick Truman.

    Hanford Nuclear Facility

    Located in Hanford, Washington it is one of the first places to start producing weapons grade plutonium. Land taken from natives through imminent domain for the war effort. This plant created plutonium for weapons during and after WWII. The archivist theory is that the US was dumping the waste to get rid of it and that is what Dahl witnessed. That is what killed his dog, hurt his son, and even could have cause Arnold's plane to malfunction. Potentially using Horten Brothers design for planes?
  • White Sands Missile Range

    Douglas Milford arrives on this military base after being given a demotion. This is the site of the first atom bomb testing in the U.S. The archivist believes that Douglas may have been involved with working hazardous duties for the Manhattan Project.
  • Fred Lee Crisman Account Published in "Amazing Stories"

    Mr. Dahl's boss Mr. Crisman had encountered one of the caves when deployed in Burma that Ray Palmer writes about. Him and another soldier were in one of the caves and had to fight their way out of the cave. Mr. Crisman ended up with two 9in scars on his arm and the other man ended up with a hole in his arm that was seared inside.
  • Ray Palmer Interrogation and Stolen Samples

    A few days after the Maury Island incident Palmer received some of the metallic objects and rocks that Dahl recovered. A agent, probably Douglas Milford, arrived at his home and asked him about the incident and the Lemurian articles that Shaver wrote. He gives up details and shows him the box of samples but the agent doesn't seem interested in them. The next morning he find his apartment was burgled and the box of samples were gone right from where the agent saw him lock them up.

  • Ray Palmer "Amazing Stories"

    Ray Palmer wrote stories for a magazine telling his story of Lemurians and Teros, alien races, that were locked in a battle and lived on Earth. Teros live among us and can blend in. The Lemurians live in underground caves and lava tubes. Like the ones at owl cave or Mt. Rainier. They communicate telepathically and can control humans. Lemurians observe, examine, torture, and sometimes eat humans.
  • Marine Plane Crash on Mt. Rainier

    A marine transport plane crashed in the mountains in Washington State. Military and volunteer planes look for the crash site. $500 reward for whoever can find the crash site.
  • Harold Dahl UFO Sighting

    Near Maury Island Harold Dahl. They noticed 6 round UFOs above them and went to shore. 5 of the ships were circling the other as the one in the middle was in distress. The middle one then had an explosion and 2 different substances came out of it. One was thin white metal and the other like lava rocks. He collect samples of both liquids. One of the ships jumpstarted the ship and they flew off. Reports the incident to his supervisor Fred Lee Crisman who he gives the footage and samples.
  • Kenneth Arnold (UFO Sighting) Newspaper Article

    Less than two weeks before Roswell Mr. Arnold claims that he saw 9 flying saucers while looking for the Marine crash site. He states the objects flew from Mr. Rainier to Mt. Adams at a rate of 1200MPH, had a wingspan of 100ft, and were about 10,000 feet high.

    Other UFO Sightings

    During this summer over 850 UFO sightings were reported across the U.S. Upon further investigation 150 of these sightings make it past the first step being ruled out as just another copycat sighting. These 150 gain further investigation by Project Sign. 1 of these 150 is a sighting over Twin Peaks, Washington that gets looked into further.
  • Roswell UFO Crash

    The famous Roswell UFO crash takes place in New Mexico.
  • Emil J. Smith UFO Sighting

    Another sighting that gained further investigation was a sighting by a veteran pilot, Emil J. Smith. During a commercial flight from Boise to Seattle spotted 9 flying disks as well flying in formation for about 10 min. His copilot and stewardess both witnessed the flying disks as well.
  • Douglas Milford Roswell UFO Crash Interview

    Douglas Milford is transferred to Roswell and is apparently working at the PX on base. He was present on the base during the famous UFO crash in Roswell and was interviewed regarding the incident by the military investigation. His account says that he saw a crash site of turned up ground about 300 yards long. He saw them loading the craft and bodies to take out of there. Also states that he saw General Nathan F. Twinning.
  • Investigation into the Kenneth Arnold Incident

    Investigated by Douglas Milford on behalf of Project Sign (before its formal creation) and Frederic Nathan from the FBI. They verify that Mr. Arnold's account seems to be truthful and can be accurate.
  • Kenneth Arnold Consults on the Harold Dahl Sighting

    well as contacting Ray Palmer reaches out to Arnold to compare his and Dahl's sightings. He arrives in Tacoma and reviews the everything with Dahl and Crisman. Arnold brings in Emil J. Smith to their group and contacts the USAF who sends 2 guys. Dahl doesn't join them that night. They have their discussion but find they are being listened too by a bug. They give samples to the USAF officers. Plane crashed on the way back and they couldn't get to safety like the others. Paul Lantz tips them off.
  • Aftermath of the Tacoma UFO Meeting

    Crisman gets taken into custody by the military. Arnold and Smith stay at the hotel but check out that evening and meet with Ted Morello. Crisman was supposedly flown to Alaska that night. Arnold and Smith talk with Dahl regarding Crisman but he tells them to leave him alone. They visit his address Dahl gave them and find a house that has been empty for a long time. They are also being followed by a black sedan. They give all the fragments of rock to an officer at McChord arifield and go home.
  • Harold Dahl Threatened

    Dahl gets a visit by a government man that matches the description of Douglas Milford. He threatens Dahl into not talking about his sighting saying he "Shouldn't have seen that" and that if he did talk about it there would be severe consequences. This is why he doesn't come to the meeting that night. His son is also missing when he gets back home. He is missing for 5 days until he calls his father from a motel in Montana. Said he "had no idea how he gotten there" and had been there a couple days
  • Creation of Project Sign

    Project Sign was a task force that's sole purpose was to investigate potential UFO sightings or phenomenon. This project was led by General Twinning. The archivist suggests that Douglas Milford may have been part of Project Sign.
  • Twin Peaks Reported UFO Sighting

    Article written by Robert Jacoby, older brother of Dr. Lawrence Jacoby. Einer Jennings, a retired mill worker, saw a UFO from the ground giving a description that matches previous encounters with flying saucers. Witnessed a fighter jet chasing after the UFO. Says that it was able to defy gravity with its change of direction. Said the UFO went straight into the air after 30 seconds and disappeared. Known as "UFO Dogfight" and the pilot of the fighter jet was Dan Luhrman.
  • Douglas Milford UFO Sighting in Twin Peaks

    Milford visits Twin Peaks after the sighting by Einer Jennings on the 4th. He scares Jennings into silence and guarantees no threat. He then gets a vision to go to the pearl lakes in the ghostwood forest which he seems compelled to do. He does an witnesses bright colorful lights above the clearing. He sees the bright lights merge and focus on 3 children in the clearing. He had to look away but when he looked back the children were gone and so was the source of the light.
  • Paul Lantz Article on the Samples

    Lantz was also given a set of samples from the Maury Island incident. He had his studied by a chemistry professor and they find the rocks to be common slag but the thin white metal was found to not be natural and cannot be replicated. It is made up of titanium and calcium, which could offer protection from radiation. At this point there was very few uses for titanium so this was strange. In 1950s U.S. and Russian militaries begins collecting and stocking up on titanium. Leads to spacecrafts.
  • Child Abduction in Twin Peaks

    The 3 children abducted in the even Douglas Milford witnessed returned the next day on the 9th. Kids were terribly hungry and thirsty. No physical ailments. Each of the kids had a symbol behind their right knees that is 3 triangles that looks like a radioactive symbol sort of like a brand. Margaret "Log Lady" Coulson, Alan Traherne, and Carl Rodd are the 3 children. Mentions of an owl by Margaret.
  • First Official Meeting of Project Sign

  • Paul Lantz Dies

    Lantz dies at the age of 29 unexpectedly. In the Fall of 1947 Lantz apparently was visited by two men who threatened him to stop. It was said he died of an unknown mysterious illness but the doctors couldn't figure out what it was. Meningitis is the cause of death put on his death certificate.
  • Project Grudge Starts

    Project Grudge replaces Project Sign after a report by the latter called "An Estimate of the Situation" that claimed that the UFO sightings were of alien origin. General Hoyt Vandenberg thinks this is ridiculous and changes them over to Project Grudge who was still investigating UFO sightings but now their focus was on disproving them.
  • Kenneth Arnold Book Excerpt

    In his book Arnold writes about his trip home that day and how he stops for gas and stays with his plane. Upon taking off again his plane engine stops and he plummets towards the ground. He is able to save himself and plane from any serious damage. Come to find out the fuel line was turned off. The only person that could do that was him. He said he never would have done that in his right mind. Talks about it being like mind controlled to do it.
  • Pete and Catherine Marry

    Ersel Martell's oldest son Pete marries Thomas Packard's youngest daughter Catherine. They met during the same event that their fathers fought at many years ago. They hastily got engaged and married. Their relationship was very rocky throughout. (Not pertinent but I like the quote by Pete "As long as whatever both halves of a couple give to each other adds up to 100 percent? Don't really matter how they divvy it up." The quote shows Pete's undying devotion and love to Catherine).
  • Harry Becomes Sheriff

    Harry takes over from his brother Frank as sheriff when Frank decides to move to West Washington where his wife is from. So for over 50 years the Truman's were the sheriff of Twin Peaks.
  • Carl Rodd Moves Back to Twin Peaks

    Carl Rodd moves back to Twin Peaks after 30 years to live in the Fat Trout Trailer Park that he eventually comes to manage. He manages the trailer park. Connection to FWWM case from Jefferies. Known as a sweet and caring old man that would try to help anyone.
  • Andrew Packard Marries Josie

    On a business trip to Hong Kong Packard fell for a 21 (actually 27) year old Asian woman named Josie. Andrew brings Josie back with him to Twin Peaks. Pete and Josie become close friends. Josie was part of the Triad like her father. Married Andrew to so that she could come to America and get away from the hit on her head for supposedly killing her father/boss.
  • "Oh, What a Tangled Web"

    A book about the town's history and its prominent families was written by Robert Jacoby at the request of the town council.
  • Andrew Packard's First Death

    When Andrew went out for a boat ride like he usually would it blew up in the boat house as soon as he started it. Andrew Packard was labelled dead by the local police. All of his belongings, including the mill, was left to Josie. Hank was arrested 2 hours before the explosion for vehicular homicide to avoid suspicion for the Packard death.
  • The Archivist Insights of Lewis' Death

    Through blood analysis on Lewis Masonic Apron and local TN investigation into Lewis death leads the Archivist to believe he was murdered. The Archivist claims Lewis mission was to look for "unknown tribe of White Indians, gold/silver mines, possible existence of mastodons, sea monsters, quasi-mythical beasts, ancient/vanished civilizations, and a race of giants." Lewis killed for the documents that he was bringing to DC. White Indians may have thought to be the Mandan tribe.
