    The Revolutionary War was the foundation that started our country. Without winning this war, we would still be part of the British Colonies to this day. This was the war that brought us our independence and our pride to be American.
  • Industrial Revolution

    Industrial Revolution
    The Industrial Revolution was the start of assembly lines and automated machines. This also helped our economy flourish. Without the industrial revolution, our country wouldn't have had many technologies, such as the locomotive and the automobile.

    The Civil War was a huge event in American history. Our country divided as two sepearate forces, fighting against each other with different beliefs. If this war had ended differently, slavery would have continued on and the Confederate states would have become their own country.

    Women were finally given the right the vote on August 26, 1920. This was a pivital starting point for higher equality among the sexes. Since that time women have made a huge impression in politics and government.

    October 29, 1929 began the start of The Great Depression when the stock market crashed. On this day, humanity received a grim reminder-that there can be hard times. This affected people greatly, causing many people to become poor and to not trust the banking systems. President Roosevelt developed the New Deal which were programs put in place to aid the recovery of the United States. Many of these programs remain in place today.

    The Attack on Pearl Harbor was the event that brought the United States into World War II. World War II is a war remembered by everyone for the mass killing of Jews in order for Adolf Hitler to created his "Golden Race." During this war, people had prejudice against Japanese-Americans because of the bombing done by Japan.

    Many Americans did not support the USA's involvement in the Vietnam war which led to public protesting and increased negativity directed to the government. It has been referred to as the first "television war" becasue unlike previous wars, Americans were viewing the horrors of war on the TV set. Many Americans were ashamed at our lost and as a result the Veterans were treated very poorly upon their return and throughout their life.

    By giving this speech, Martin Luther King Jr. sent the people of America a message worth hearing. He let the people of America know that all men are created equal, no matter the race. Without the works of people such as Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights movement, people of color wouldn't have the same rights that they have today.

    John F. Kennedy's assassination was very sudden and unexpected, and left America in shock. Just like Abraham Lincoln's assassination, the country was split over what to think, but whether people favored him or were against him, they whole country came together to mourn his passing, It was a time that many people remember, and few forget.

    September 11th 2001 is by far the top event that shaped American history. Known by many, this terrorist attack affected many things. Security, our views on other countries, and many other aspects were changed.
