Timeline of Teo Kin Bye's Life

  • Born

Teo Kin Bye was born around 1930 to 1931(It depends according to which calendar - the Lunar calendar or the Gregorian calendar) . She never knew her birth date, hence her passport reads ' - / - / 1930 '. However, in this timeline, I unfortunately cannot leave a blank date. Thus I randomly set the date to the 1st day of the year.
  • Move to Rented House

Kin Bye stayed in this rented house until she was 11 years old. The landlord was extremely kind to her, especially after her parents died.

  • British Fall to The Japanese

This day was an important part of Kin Bye's life as since then, they could not use their money anymore (The Japanese made them use Banana Notes). Thus, they were poorer than before. However, what really changed her life was when here parents died and left her alone to defend herself.

Not even 100 days after her father's death, her mother died too. The death of her parents left a significant impact on her life as she now had no one to rely on at the small age of 11. Because of this, she had to work when she was still a child.

  • Meeting Ng Khim Chiew, Future Husband-to-be

Kin Bye met her future husband-to-be when she was 16 and he, 20. She was living at her aunt's place and one day her aunt went to a friend's brother's birthday party and saw him. On the way home, she recommended her niece Kin Bye to him for marriage. Khim Chiew decided to see Kin Bye's face and check her out first before agreeing to marry her. He secretly spied on her without her knowing and thought that she was pretty pretty, hence he went home to get a matchmaker.
  • Marriage ;D

Conversion of Lunar Calendar to Gregorian Calendar 1942
^According to the Lunar Calendar they were married on the 28th of July (the 7th month, which isn't a good time to marry because it's during the ghost festival) but Kin Bye's older female cousin was about to give birth soon and according to Chinese superstition she had to marry before that, hence everything was rushed into the 7th month.
