    Telephone

    A communication device that allows the transfer of human voices through a wire. It is significant because it allowed parties to effectively communicate with one another at a much faster and efficient rate. Fun Fact: "Mr. Watson, come here, I want to see you," were the first words spoken through a telephone by Alexander Graham Bell.
  • Microprocessors

    Microprocessors

    A small chip that gives computers their computing power and allows them to function. They are significant because they allowed for computers to become more mobile and functional by giving as much power as older computers such as the ENIAC which was 3,000 cubic feet into a small chip that is less than an inch big. Fun Fact: A transistor of a processor can switch on and off over 300 billion times in one second.
  • Cell Phone

    Cell Phone

    A mobile telephone that allows two parties to communicate from various locations. It is significant because it allows for people to now communicate from just about anywhere instead of only being able to talk at certain locations. Fun Fact: The first mobile phone was invented in 1973 but did not go on sale until 1873 and they cost $4,000 each.
  • Apple II

    Apple II

    A personal computer that is made for everyday consumers by not being bulky, fairly cheap, and was easy to use for anybody who wanted to. The significance of the Apple II was that it became very popular and was one of the leaders in the wave of consumers starting to have personal computers in their households. Fun Fact: this computer had color graphics, sound, and came with a built in game.
  • Internet

    Internet

    The internet is the development of a network that connects computers, phones, and even cars altogether. The creation of the internet allows for many different users to connect to each other virtually rather than having to all be together physically to communicate and work on specific tasks. Fun Fact: Of all the searches made on Google daily about 20% of them are something that's never been googled before.
