    Christopher Columbus

    Christopher Columbus
    A man named by Christopher Columbus discovered the "New World" ( America ) in 1492. Columbus led his three ships the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria, out of the Spanish port of Palos on August 3, 1492 his objective was to sail west until he reached Asia where the riches of gold, pearls and spice waits.

    Nearly a century later from 1497 an english noble named Sir Raleigh tried to start a colony on Roanoke Island. The Roanoke did not work out so well.

    Congress Declared War on Brittain. On 1812 Madison launched the War of 1812. In the War of 1812, the United States took on the greatest naval power in the world, Great Britain, in a conflict that would impact on the young country's future.
