    Hayes with his vice president William A. Wheeler become elected as a result of the Compromise of 1877 due to an election dispute.

  • Invention of the Lightbulb

    After experimenting with thousands of filaments, Edison finally patents his invention of the lightbulb, able to produce 13 continuous hours of light.
