    The first recordings of basic water use to make power or items move was in Roman Times.

    Middle Ages

    The middle ages also carried on the use of using water to create energy.
  • First Patent that used the ocean to create useable energy.

    Girard Messers was the first person to patent the idea of using the ocean to create useable energy. He did this by having a raft acting as a buoy, the raft had a rope attached which pulled the object trhough the water.
  • Little ideas before now

    Before the 1970's very few ideas where thought of about using tides and currents as energy, one of the ideas were called a navigation buoy, the buoy had a hole in the bottom where the air would go in and out as the waves moved the buoy up and down.
