    First Commercial Nuclear Power Plant Begins Operation in Shippingport, Pennsylvania. Three years later, the Shippingport plant began supplying electricity to the Pittsburgh area. The Shippingport nuclear power plant was retired in 1982.

The cooling systems in the reactors are diabled causing a hydrogen explosion, the issue becomes worse when radiation leaks out abnd there is more hydrogen explosions. After the radiation leaks out into the Pacific Ocean and contaminates waters that reach the US.
