  • Brown v. Board of Education

    Brown v. Board of Education
    This event happened in Topeka, Kansas and this case happened because this girl named Linda Brown wanted tio enter a school that was only for whites so her parents took this into court. The method was that is was because of integration and Supreme Court Decisions. The result was that seperated schools are inherently unequal.
  • Pearsall Plan

    The Pearsall Plan was a report that was written in North Carolina. The method was that racially mixed schools caused the Government to write this letter. The leaders was the Government and the result was that the UNC admitted minority students.
  • Greensboro Sit In

    Greensboro Sit In
    The Greenboro Sit in happened in Greensboro at the Woolworth's. The methods were that there were racial restaurants and it was civil disobedience. It was led by Martin Luther King Jr, NAACP, and SNCC. The result was that the Greensboro lunch counter changed its policies and began welcoming African Americans.
  • Freedom Riders

    This event occured in New Orleans, Washington D.C. and Birmingham Alabama. Freedom Riders were issuing new regulations that banned segregation. The successful leaders were Robert Kennedy and James Farmer. The result was that crossed state lines ---- interstate.
  • Civil Rights Act of 1964

    This event occured in North Carolina and it happened because of racial and the result desegregated everything. The leaders were Johnson and several African Americans. The result was that it banned discrimination not only by race and color, but also by sex, religion and national origin
  • Voting Rights Act of 1965

    This event took place in Selma Alabama it was an event that people had to protest. The successful leaders were Johnson and SNCC. The result was that it led changes in political life in South 1966 about 100 African Americans held elective office in South.
