Amos was born, and his mother died. Deliliah was Amos's mother. deliliahs mom helped her give birth to Amos. Amos never met her mother because she died during birth. they buried her next to the tree, right next to the $300. Jake did not know about Amos's birth, or Deliliahs death.

The mission at Prettywater was where they built the schoolhouse. Rebecca taught Amos and the other kids religion. Rebecca taught the Indians too. The life on the mission wasn't what they expected. Amos learned some Otoe, but not enough to translate.

Rebecca got offered a vaccine for small pox, but she refused. She claimed she was vaccinated when she was younger. One day she got sick. and it was the small pox. She was shoot by the indians so the disease wouldnt spread. She died in Prettywater. For further precaution, they burned down her house. After rebeccas death, Gil was emotionless.

Adam [the oldest block boy] is getting married to Ester. Ester has black hair, creamy skin, and bright eyes. They got married the same day Amos turned 6. At first, Amos didnt like Ester. Amos ended up liking her because she is teaching Amos how to read.

Jake introduces Blue Owl to everybody. Blue Owl doesnt care for talking. Amos doesnt really like her, as well as Henrietta. Amos is very unwelcoming and stubborn with Blue Owl. Jake doesnt think she is pretty, he only married her because she was a hard worker.

Jake, Blue Owl, and Amos go back to Bittersweet Creek to their cabin. In the cabin they find Daisy and her husband Homer. a few months later Daisy was giving birth. She is going to call him Finn. Daisy, Finn, and Homer end up living with Jake, Blue Owl, and Amos.
