It had both guerrilla and regular army units, as well as a network of cadres who organized peasants in the territory it controlled.

Johnson, he kept the war funded and healthy. JFK greatly affected how much money and advisors were put into the war, he made it possible to even keep fighting the war.

He got Congress to sign off on a resolution that was passed on August 7th of 1964. The resolution gave authorization to use "conventional" military force in Southeat Asia.

The U.S. had been fighting against Guerilla Forces and against Guerilla Tactics in waging the Vietnam War. They had been fighting sneaky and stealthy battles but that day they showed themselves.

    Mai Lai Massacre The Vietnam War mass murder of between 347 and 504 unarmed civilians in South Vietnam on March 16, 1968. It was committed by the U.S. Army soldiers. Victims included women, men, children, and infants. Some of the women were gang-raped and their bodies mutilated. Twenty six soldiers were charged with criminal offenses, but only Second Lieutenant William Calley Jr., a platoon leader in C Company, was convicted.

His assasination was very much based on moral and trust in the government.

The targets of these attacks were sanctuaries and Base Areas of the PAVN and forces of the Viet Cong, which utilized them for resupply, training, and resting between campaigns across the border in South Vietnam.
