Communist North Vietnam wipes out all of the land from people and imprisons or executes any land owners. Many North Vietnamese flee to South Vietnam.

Guerilla warfare has risen which meant more ambushes, raids and sabotages would be occurring in small groups towards US troops. The Vietcong would at time dress casually and randomly start an attack towards the US.

U.S. encouraged the South Vietnamese General to overthrow Diem.The following day he orders the execution of Diem and his brother.

While in a parade/motorcade in Dallas, Texas, President Kennedy was assassinated. He was shot and killed and Johnson takes over presidency.

Operation Linebacker was launched by the United States air force to bomb the North Vietnamese to slow the transportation of their supplies and materials.

The Watergate scandal involved Nixon and his administration covering up illegal activities and his involvement within them. It was a major political scandal that was a break in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D.C.

North and South Vietnam and the United States sign an agreement to keep peace between them and the states. A ceasefire is declared and the United States pulls themselves out of the war.

The last soldier leaves Vietnam and the United States officially pulls themselves out of the Vietnam war. A few military advisors remain however the death toll within the 3 million soldiers at war was too much impact on America.

Nixon resigns because of the Watergate scandal. Nixon was caught assisting the scandal for close to two years. Ford takes his place as president.

Thousands of South Vietnamese attempt to flee Saigon. The invasion of the North Vietnamese became more and more apparent.

North Vietnamese take down the gates at the Presidential Palace to the surrender of General Minh. South Vietnam was then under the control of North Vietnam who announced that Vietnam will become one. The Vietnam war has ended.
