    Kekuhaupio teaches Kamehameha
    Kekuhaupio taught kamehameha how fight a war. He taught him to use weapons. He taught him to use specific strategies. He taught Kamehameha to throw and catch spears. Kekuhaupio taught kamehameha everything he needed to now to conquer the islands.

    Kamehameha conquers Maui
    In the summer Kamehameha went to conquer Maui. Kalanikupule son of Kahekili was waiton for him. Kamehameha faught with much skill. The fighting ended in Iao valley. Kamehameha won the battle that became known as Kepaniiwai wich means damming of the rives.

    Kamehameha conquered Maui Molokai and Lanai he settled on molokai for a bit to plan his attack oon Oahu.
  • The great battle of Nuuanu

    The great battle of Nuuanu
    Kamehameha and his army went to Oahu from Molokai. kamehamehas men were great fighters and were more skilled than Oahus army. They fought all the way up to Nuuanu valey where Kamehamehas warriors pushed Kalanikupules warriors off of a cliff. Many many peole fell off jumped off or were pushed off and many died. Kamehameha won the battle and was now ruler of all the islands except Kauai and Niihau. Kalanikapule escaped but was captured a few months later.

    Kamehameha finally united the islands by coming to an agreement with the chief of kauai that he could govern the island untill his deat and that the island would be putt under the rule of kamehameha once he died. Kamehameha had no battles with kauai to gain controll

  • Kapu system abolished Pt.1

    Soon after Kamehamehas death Ka'ahumanu announced that she would be ruling alongside Liholiho. Ka'ahumanu did not like kapu, she wanted it abolished. Liholiho had to be convinced by Ka'ahumanu to eat with women and break kapu. When Liholiho finally gave in he ate at a big feast and in front of many people. He ate freely with women there. People saw that the kapu was ending, some were happy but some were furios. Soon a revolt started but with all the firepower Liholiho had the war soon ended.
  • The kapu system gets abolished Pt. 2

    Now that the revolt against kapu ended kapu was over. Kamehameha probably wouldnt be happy with this if he was alive to see it. Women now had a lot of freedom and just as much power as men had. Ka'ahumanu and Liholiho felt accomplished. Most people were happy including high priests. But some still worshipped the gods in secret. This new loss of kapu paved the way for missionaries.
