    The shah is allowing his secret police to deal with revolutionarys as they please, this sparks a revolution in iran. The revoluntionarys then blame the United States for not confronting this tyranny.
  • The taking of prisoners

    On November 4, 1979, an angry mob of young Islamic revolutionaries overran the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, taking more than 60 Americans hostage.
  • Presidents Strikes back

    After the students took their hostages Jimmy Carter embargos Irans oil.
  • The Escape

    On this date Mendaz rescued the diplomats and gave them credentials to pass the Irany border . When they arrived in Switzerland the diplomats were put into hiding and were not allowed to talk to the press in order to keep the other prisoners safe.
  • Operation Eagle Claw

    On the 24th of April the US government launch a rescue mission for the hostages. This mission failed when 3 of the helicopters had to turn around with mechanical problems,
  • All hostages were returned

    On January 20, 1981, as Ronald Reagan became President, the hostages were flown from Teheran to Europe, and on to New York.
    The crisis was over.
