    The first Viking Raid began in 793. It was against Lindisfarne on the northeast coast of England.

    It was a violent time. The crusaders (Christians) attacked the muslims for the holy land. The first battle Christians won. The 2nd and third they lost. At that time there were classes of people. At the top it was the king. Then it was the lords, knights, and then last and least serfs. A lot of people were poor at this time.

    The Inquisition Begins
    The Inquisition began in the 1200s. This was an office that was very powerful within the Catholic Church. This was the time when people persecuted Jews and Muslims just because of their religion. The worst one was in Spain, killing over 32,000 people.

    This was a disease that killed over 50% of Europe during the years 1347 and 1351. After 1351 the economies were a lot higher and the strong people lived and created new genes.

    The first printing press was made in 1445. Even though there was a different form of the printing press made in China, Europe's was the first actual printing press.

    Columbus Sailed the Ocean Blue
    In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. Christopher Columbus is known to be the founder of the Americas, but really it was the early Vikings. He was trying to look for Asia​ but ended up finding America.

    Also known as the Protestant Reformation, this took place during the 16th century. People who were involved in this reformation were Martin Luther and John Calvin.

    This is "rebirth" in French, during this time period historians believe that other continents were founded. There was also a low amount of people involved in the feudal system. This was also a time of inventions the mariner's compass, printing, and gunpowder. This is known to have taken place from the 14th century to the 17th century.

    The Enlightenment started in the ​early 1700s and 1800s. This was the time when God, nature, and humanity was made into a worldwide view. Because of this, art, philosophy, and politics​ changed greatly.

    The Industrial Revolution started in 1760 and ended in 1840, but different countries started theirs at different times. This is where people started using machines to create things. Now things are not man-made, but machine-made.

    This took place from 1787 to 1799. During this time there was a discovery of Brazilian gold mines. Also, the monarchs used a lot of money on parties. The French people were dirt poor and had no food.

    Napoleon became the emperor of the French in 1804 and his term ended in 1814/15. He was known as one of the graetest because he revoultionized military training and helped organize it, he supported the Napoleonic Code, reformed education, and did many other things.

    The opening of the Eiffel Tower happened on March 31, 1889. The tower took 200 people to construct. The creator was Gustave Eiffel and he was the Prime Minister at the time.

    This war took place between 1914 and 1918. This war is also called the Great War. This war was fought between Europe, Russia, the Middle East, and the United States.

    There were two Russian revolutions, one took place in February and it took down the imperial government, which is a monarchy. The second revolution which took place in November made the Bolsheviks, they were people who apart of the Russian government.

    This contagious bacteria killed many people. The bacteria was similar to influenza bacteria. People had trouble treating it so it was like a death sentence. This disease was also known as the Influenza Pandemic or the Spanish Influenza Pandemic.

    The Great Depression started in 1929 and ended in 1939 (about). during this sad time, people began to lose money and a lot of it. Furthermore, they were also fired from their jobs because the company had no money to keep employing them. Soon, food supply went down and people started to go hungry and some of them even died.

    World war II started in 1937. In this war many died. It was the Americans and their allies vs Nazi Germany and Japan. Nuclear weapons were invented. The German army was led by Hitler. Many, many people lost their lives and their loved ones.

    The Cold War was trying to find out who would go to space first. The Russians sent a satellite to space on October 4, 1947, and the United States followed in 1958. The Cold War was the United States against the Soviet Union. Some say this war ended after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
  • Berlin Wall Fell

    Berlin Wall Fell
    The Berlin Wall fell in 1989. It divided the city of Berlin into east and west Berlin. This surrounded the city because the east area was unsafe and just a bad area. The wall collapsed on November 9, 1989. This was both a good and a bad thing for Germany. It was good because Germany was now not divided, and the bad part was that the easterns were bad, but eventually they turned good.
