    The roaring twenties

    Durning this time women's independences was getting better and stronger. So they wore clothes that showed it. Before they could only wear dress the cover their feet, and they weren't even alound to show their ankles. But that changed in the 1920's. The women would wear colors that show their personallity, and moods. Dressmaking and millinery courses in particular were embraced by women who wanted the new fashions but couldn't afford retail prices.

    The Art Deco movement was a popular design style of the 1920's that often used strong colors and geometric shapes to convey the "modern" look. It used sleek, streamlined forms to convey elegance and sophistication. This was a period of wonderful new inventions, upbeat music, and flappers.

    ( 1920's hairstyles ) No matter how she mangles it, or mistreats it, no matter if she cuts most of it off, her hair still remains the most telling item of her appearance. It is also the symbol of the freedom of women. But bobbing the hair won't make you free. It isn't so simple as that. And having long hair won't make you reactionary and stupid. That's mixing spiritual causes to make aesthetic effects, and it can't be done.

    1920's Dresses were lighter and brighter and shorter than ever before. Fashion designers played with fabric colors, textures and patterns to create totally new styles of dress. Hemlines rose for most of the decade but dropped slightly toward the end. Shoes and stockings assumed a greater prominence now that they were more visible. Silk stockings in all the colors of the rainbow, often with patterns, were designed to match the coordinated outfits of stylish women.
