    A mob gathered in front of the Boston Customs House and taunted the British soldiers. Shots were fired and five colonists were killed or wounded. It quickly became a bloody slaughter. It although started off as a minor fight which became a turning point in the beginning in the American Revolution. The fight happened at the capital of the Province of Massachusetts Bay.

Eight minutemen were killed and ten more were wounded, but only one British soldier was injured. The Battle of Lexington, the first battle of the Revolutionary War, lasted only 15 minutes and it was the first military conflict in the American Revolution.

This event happened affected the American Revolution because it was written and passed to give England complete control over the thirteen colonies.
