This was an early war in the Mexican Independence, it was fought between Miguel Hidalgo and Ignacio Allende against the royalist troops. Miguel Hidalgo won the fight but retreated instead of attacking the Capital. (Resistance)

Calleja, Hidalgo and Allende meet outside of Guadalajara. The rebels had Calderon's Bridge fortified, but the war errupted on January 17, 1811. Calleja had 6,000 men against 80,000 of Hidalgo, but they were well trained. The war ended when a cannon of Calleja hit a munition wagon of the rebel. This caused a great explosion and made all the rebels flee. (Resistance)

Miguel Hidalgo was taken to the Bishop of Durago, he was found guilty of herasy and treason. He was executed by a firing squad. (Resistance)

The rebels were lead by Jose Maria Morelos and fought against the Spanish royalist forces lead by Manuel de la Concha. The battle was won the the Spanish royalists. Morelos was captured and executed at the end of the battle. (Resistance)
