The March Through Malaya

  • Landing of Japanese Troops

    The Japanese army had arrived at the east coast of South Thailand. They also went to Kota Bahru in north eastern Malaya. From the 2 points the Japanese invasion against Malaya started.
  • Sinking of British Battleships

    The Repulse and the Prince of Wales had been sunken by Japanese figher places off Kuantan on the east coast of Malaya. The 2 ships were British Battleships. When the 2 battleships had sunken the British no longer had any batleships. The battleships were to stop th Japanese from going to the coast of Malaya.
  • The Battle of Jitra

    In Jitra (in Kedah) the British and the Japanese tanks had fought in the hard rains. The British did not have Tanks because the British thought that the tanks would not do good in the jungles. The Japanese tanks were able to fire really fast at such a speed to take out lots of men from the British. The British were wrong in not using tanks because they had lost lots of men. Some of the British orders were not clear to the other people. It lead to a down fall in communications.
  • The Falld of Penang

    A few days before the fall of Penang. Lots of the ships and the boats in the harbour were seized by the Japanes peope. Then later the Japanese later used it to make a coastal landings on the West coast of Malaya. But before that the Japanese places had dropped many bombs on the Penang island.
  • The Battle of Slim River

    At Slim River at Perak. British had lost a bat tle against the Japanese forces. The British were going to destroy the Japanese tanks so they tried anti-tank guns, but it did not work. During the battle the Japanese had captured large amounts of food, ammunition and lots of equiptment.
  • Japanese Troops Entered Kuala Lumpur

    When the Japanese troops entered Kuala Lumpur the Japanese found trains with lots of food, and ammunition. Japanese troop found lots of maps from the British.
  • The Battle of Gemas

    The Austrailian and Indian allied forces tried to stop Japanese troops from reaching Singapore. The Austrailian put explosives on the wooden bridge. The Austrailian commander waited until lots of the Japanese troops were on the bridge. Then he would blow up the wooden bridge. It was a victory for the Australian and Indian for killing lots of the Japanese troops. However the Austrailian and the Indians success did not last long because the Japanese started to make coastal landings.
  • The Destruction of the Causeway

    The British, Indian and Austrailian from different parts of Jorhor withdrew to Singapore. The were releasing the news that Malaya was lost. The Brtish troops were had blown up the Causeway which connected to Malaya and Singapore. The Japanese is now towards Singapore. The strong fortress of the British.
