    Ignatius travels to the Benedictine Monastery, Santa Maria de Montserrat. There he then went to the city of Manresa and spent several months in a cave where he practiced very much prayer. This is where he made the spiritual exercises.

    Ignatius finally passes away. He had a fever and the day before asked for the last sacraments and a papal blessing. He then dies peacefully in prayer.
