RoadTrip
Ronnie and Jonah are siblings and they are heading to Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina to see their father for the summer. Jonah is very excited about going, but Ronnie is not too excited. She doesn't really enjoy hanging out or being around her dad that often. -
Arrival
They arrived at her fathers house which is directly on the beach. As she walked upon the house, she walked the opposite way, straight to the beach, without saying a word to her father. She walked along the beach, grabbed a milkshake, and walked past a volleyball tournament when she got tackled by a guy playing the volleyball game. His name was Will. -
Meeting new people
After going through the trouble with Will, she keeps walking along and runs into a couple. Their names are Blaze and Marcus. They invite her over to the bonfire they were having on the beach and Marcus seemed to be interested in Ronnie so she left so there wouldn't be any problems between her and Blaze. -
Discovering
She finally goes home that night and has a conversation with her father and they get into a fight. The next morning, she walks along the beach and runs into a lady. She says that the raccoons are trying to destroy the sea turtle eggs, so Ronnie goes and tries to protect the eggs and best as she can and calls the aquarium to come and help. -
Will
Will sees Ronnie at a lot of the places on the beach and always talks to her. They start getting close. He happens to work for the aquarium, so he comes down stays overnight with Ronnie to help protect the eggs and that's whenever they start getting really close. -
Skeptical
Marcus has still been wanting to talk to Ronnie and possibly have a relationship with her but Ronnie doesn't want that at all because Blaze was her "friend". Blaze set up Ronnie in the CD store by putting a record in her bag and letting Ronnie walk out of the store with it and getting charged with shoplifting, again. -
Shoplifting
Ronnie thinks that she will be sent back with her mom for the summer for shoplifting even though it wasn't her fault. Her father wouldn't believe her that she didn't do it and neither would her mother since she already had a record for it beforehand. That night, Will came by again and they continue hanging out for awhile, and he comes on with a surprise kiss and they finally go on their first date together. -
The First Date
Ronnie invited Will over to have dinner with her and her family so they could all meet him, but before that, they went on a trip. They had to go to Will's house first so Will could get ready. They drove down roads, sang along together, and happened to get stuck in a ditch that happened to have mud all in it. Ronnie hit the gas hard to get out of the ditch and got mud all over will and he happened to get it all over her. -
His House
They arrived at his house and the gates opened. She didn't realize what she got herself into and had no clue he was rich. Him and his parents have a mansion that is beautiful, but she didn't want to meet them with mud all over her as a first impression. He convinced her that his parents were not home so she was safe to rinse off without them seeing her like that. As they were getting washed down with a hose, his mother comes outside and offers Ronnie clothes since she was wet and muddy. -
Meeting his parents
His mother seemed to not like Ronnie's presence and decided to mention Will's sister's wedding and asked if he happened to invite Ronnie to the wedding when she knew he didn't have the chance to yet. Ronnie seemed a little upset and thought maybe he was taking another girl with him, but he happened to ask her about being his date for the wedding. -
Pre-Wedding Day
Her father knew she wanted to attend the wedding with Will, so he gave her cash to buy a dress. She was on her way to buying the dress when she noticed Blaze sitting by herself because Marcus just left her all alone. Ronnie handed Blaze the money without saying anything. She went home and Jonah questioned where the dress was and she said she lost the money. Jonah grabbed out his savings and handed her the money for her to go buy a dress for the wedding. Jonah went along to help pick it out. -
Wedding Day
Ronnie and Will were off to a great start during the Wedding. Ronnie realized that Blaze was actually helping out with the wedding and went over and talked to her. Marcus decided to show up and start a fight with Blaze and Ronnie told Marcus to leave her alone and it all went downhill. Will took Ronnie home and the next day he realized that Blaze was juggling fireballs with Marcus and Blaze got hit with one which caught her on fire and sent to the hospital. -
Marcus
Ronnie and Will were hanging out on the Cabana and he was doing back flips while she was tanning. They headed back to her house and bought ice cream on the way and she happened to accidentally run into Marcus. He hung on to her and would not let her go and Will got involved and told him to let her go and they headed back to Ronnie's. They finally made it to her house and he asked about the piano. -
Birthday
Ronnie's birthday was approaching and will knew it. He went out and bought her a silver necklace with a sea turtle pendant since that was technically their "first date" and took her out to an Italian restaurant. -
New Job
Ronnie surprised Will by getting a job at the aquarium with her so they could spend as much time together before she had to go back to New York with her mother and when he goes off to college. Ronnie arrived home that day and was looking for her father and asked Jonah where he was and he didn't even know. Ronnie went to the church and found her father sitting there. He was playing the piano and writing a new song. -
Hospital
Ronnie and Jonah's dad, Steve, finds out he is dying. He was diagnosed with a type of cancer that was located in the stomach and he only had a couple months to stay alive. He called the kids' mother for her to come out and get the kids before he had gotten even worse or close to death. Ronnie thought about all the times they had fought and what not, so she started playing the piano, once again. -
Piano
Ronnie used to play the piano when she was a little girl because her father was a teacher at Julliard and taught her how to play. She explained why she had stopped playing and it was because her father left her and her brother. That night, they sat on the beach and talked. -
Helping Jonah
Ronnie and Will noticed that Jonah was working on something downstairs while their father was in the hospital. They went down to try and help him but he kept yelling and getting frustrated with it and didn't want anyone to help him because it was a project him and his dad were working on and he wanted to finish it himself. He finally let them help him, and it was a window replacement for the church that was burnt down. -
No
Their mother, Kim, had arrived at the hospital because she knew what was happening. She talked to Ronnie and told her that her and Jonah had to come back with her but Ronnie refused to leave. Ronnie continued to stay with her father and kept saying "no" to every comment that her mother would say about her leaving to go back to New York. Ronnie wanted to be with her dad and help him until his very last breath. -
Playing the Piano
Will helps Ronnie with the rest of the song for the piano for her to play. Later on that day, they get into a fight and split up to go their separate ways because Ronnie couldn't handle a relationship with her dad in this state of mind. -
Good-Bye
Ronnie and Jonah's dad eventually passes away within the time-span of a week. They held a viewing in the church that he would always go to and visit. The church that had the broken window and he remade. Everyone came to the viewing. As soon as Ronnie started playing the piano, playing the song that her father wrote and her and Will finished together, Will walks through the door and attends the viewing. At the end, they talk about what had happened between them. -
Audition
She decided to audition at Julliard. She auditioned with the song that her father had wrote. Will decided to move to a college in New York to be with Ronnie.
