Amir and Hassan win kite flying contest
Amir and Hassan had a love for kite's together, and won a contest together. -
Hassan gets raped by Assef
The same day as the kite flying contest, Hassan gets raped by Assef in an alley. Amir sees it and doesn't help. -
Ali and Hassan leave
On Amir's birthday, he put the watch and money he got on Hassan's bed and blames it on Hassan. Baba confronts him and they leave. -
Baba and Amir moved to San Francisco from Afghanistan.
They moved out of Afghanistan because of the Soviet invasion. Baba didn't want to see his country go down so he left before it did. -
Amir graduates from high school.
Amir decides to go to junior college. He decides to major in creative writing. -
Amir marries Soraya.
Amir met Soraya at a flea market after him and Baba moved to America. When they first met he was nervous talking to her because in Afghanistan a young man cannot talk to an unmarried young women. -
Baba passes away.
Baba had been diagnosed with cancer and decided not to take his medicine for one night, and ends up passing away that night. -
Sohrab is born
Sohrab is Hassan and Farzana's child, he is Amir's nephew and later becomes Amir's adopted son. When Hassan and Farzana are murdered Sohrab is sent to an orphanage. -
Hassan and Farzana are killed by the taliban.
Hassan and Farzana were at Baba's house watching it for him and the Taliban came and found him and killed him then Farzana. -
Amir ends up getting a call from Rahim Khan
The call from Rahim Khan was about the fact that he knew Amir saw what happened to Hassan and that he could atone for his sins. -
Sohrab tries to commit suicide
Sohrab attempts suicide by cutting his wrists open in the bathroom. He attempts because he doesn't like his life. -
Amir finally get's Sohrab to smile.
Amir had gotten Sohrab to smile for the first time. He got him to by asking him to live in America with him. -
Amir and Sohrab fly a kite together
They flew a kite together just like when Amir and Hassan used to together. This makes them bot happy and reminds Amir of the good times he had with Hassan.
