Before Youtube was created, there was the technology, called Television, which is still around today. But where did people watch videos, before 2005? That's right, the commonly known television show, America's Funniest Home Videos. -

Youtube was realeased to the public, a website created by Karim, Chad Hurley, and Steve Chen, to make sharing and watching videos online alot easier. -

In a San Diego zoo, a man named Jawed Karim (a creator of Youtube) recorded himself, talking about elephants.. He later posted it on youtube, the first youtube video, EVER posted. It was the start of a social revolution. -

Users and Subscribers
Users have been increasing alot, and videos have gotten stupider, but back when youtube started Users were being bribed with Ipod Nanos, The site showed 2 million videos a day. Two months later there was 23 million videos a day.. Today it broadcasts over 1 billion videos, each day. -
Going once, twice, sold.
On October 9, 2006 Google decided, to buy Youtube. Youtube was bought by google for $1.65 billion in stock. -
