    Immirgrants to the United States
    the first memeber of my family to come to the United States was my grand pa Eligio Garcia. He came to the United States to have a better life for him and his kids. He also came here so he had money to provide for his family. My grandpa had 13 kids had to that where born here in the U.S. He worked in many jobs but the one he stayed in for many years was repairing roof tops and old houses.
  • My Grandfather's Journey to America

    Ricardo de los Santos was a history teacher at the local high school in the Philippines before moving to America with his wife and children. In 1968, they decided to move to the United States because they wanted to have better life opportunities for their children. The journey wasn't hard to get to America except when the whole family misses their connecting flight to San Francisco.
  • Maria Del Carmen Morales immigrates to U.S.A

    My grandmother migrated in this year because her husband was tired of the life they were living. It was hard to find a job for him so he traveled and crossed the border. They use to live in Juarez chihuahua. She had two sons and owned her own beauty shop until she came to America. After like 5 years She became a citizen.
  • Maria Melendez Hernandez Immigrated to the United States

    The year of 1976 my mother Maria left El Salvador and migrated to Panama to work as a maid and nanny for 6 years she also had the oppurtunity to go to Europe in 1979 for 3 months as a nanny for the Lalo family she was working for in Panama. In 1981 the Lalo Family decided to sell their home in Panama thats when the Lalo family helped my mom get her visa to enter the United States and they moved to Miami, Florida. She gained her temporary citizenship in 1987 and became a citizen in1997.
  • Elmer Vera Immigrates to the United States

    Elmer Vera immigrates to the United States in 1992, after obtaining his American citizenship. He first lives at San Jose and works as a cashier at San Jose International Airport. He marries Emilia Santos in Novemeber and starts his family shortly after. Several years later, he graduates from Austin Community College with a BS in Nursing.
