  • the Beginning

    The first motion picture was made in 1888 by a British director named Louise Le Prince. The film was named the Roundhouse Garden Scene lasting only for just over 2 seconds. The drama film included Le Princes' son Adolphe Le Prince and his mother Ms Sarah Whitley dancing dancing around in circles while laughing

    Movies started to become popular attraction in 1900 in amusement arcades and music halls bringing more and more people in to see these short films
  • Gilbert Anderson

    In 1914 an actor named Gilbert Anderson became the first cowboy hero and one of the first recognisable character in American short films
  • Disney introduced

    The Walt Disney Company started in 1923 by a few people in a small office in Los Angeles. It was there these few people created a series of short animated films.
  • The Golden Age

    1930-1940 was the era known as 'The Golden Age Of Hollywood', named this by film critics and historians because movies were becoming longer and more people wanted to act.
  • The first color movie

    The first color movies was produced in 1939. The movies 'The Wizard Of Oz' and 'Gone With The Wind' were debatably the first color movies to be shown for the public.
  • Finding Dory takes top charts

    In 2016, the Disney film Finding Dory took top charts making over 250 million dollars in sales. It is the sequel of the movie 'Finding Nemo'.
