Skeeter Returns
Skeeter finishes her degree at Ole Miss and shortly after gets a job writing Miss Myrna's column, a cleaning column, at the Jackson Journal. She asks Aibileen, Elizabeth's maid, for help because Skeeter doesnt know much about cleaning tricks. -
Bridge Club
The girls get together for their regular bridge club. While they are playing Hilly starts talking about how she thinks that all white families should have a bathroom outside because they carry different "diseases". Skeeter thinks that maybe Hilly should have her bathroom outside, and then the discussion gets heated. -
Constantine!!
When Skeeter gets home she realizes that her best friend who happened to be her maid wasn’t there anymore. She asked why she wasn’t there but was never told the truth. -
Skeeter Gets An Idea
Skeeter used to be in contact with Elaine Stein, a big time news paper editor. She told Skeeter to find a paper to write for and think of something exciting to write about and then maybe she could later get a job at her paper. So Skeeter's big exciting story is a inside look on the help. It shares the colored people’s story on working for white people and their families. -
Minny Gets Fired
Minny gets fired form Hilly's and can't find another job. Aibileen later tells her that Hilly went around telling everyone she knew that Minny was a thief. Minny gets revenge on Hilly but she wont tell anyone what she did. There was only one person who would hire her, Celia Foote. She is Johnny Foote wife who is also Hilly's ex. Minny has her work cut out for herself and has to keep herself hidden from Johnny. -
Skeeter's Blind Date
Hilly sets Skeeter up on a blind date with Stuart Whitworth; he gets drunk and continues to insult Skeeter. She never wants to see him again. -
The Book Begins
In the beginning only Aibileen agrees to help Skeeter with her book. Skeeter doesnt understand why nobody would want to share their stories, but Aibileen tells her that what they were doing is illegal. -
Minny Helps
After Minny gets fired she walks in when Skeeter an Aibileen are talking. First she gets mad, and then seconds later she says she will help too. Minny has lots of good stories, and has a strong attitude. Skeeter sends in what she has to Elaine Stein and she likes it. But there is one problem; she wants Skeeter to find twelve more maids! -
2nd Chances
3 months after Skeeter and Stuarts date he shows up at her house to apologize for his behavior at their date. He asks if she would like to give him another chance. She does and it ends up going great, they continue to see each other. -
Celia's Secret
Minny finds out that Celia has had a miscarriage, actually it's her fourth. Celia thinks that Johnny won't want her anymore if she cant have babies. Minny tries to tell her that he would still love her. -
More Maids!
Hilly fired another maid because she stole one of Hilly's least favorite rings because Hilly wouldn’t give her a loan to help send her boys to college. This time Hilly forces Yule Mae to get a $500 fine and four years in jail. This and a little help from Minny got Skeeter a lot more maids to share their stories. -
Typo!
Skeeter was told a while ago to put Hilly's outdoor bathroom initiative but Skeeter kept purposely forgetting. When she finally put it into the news letter she had a "typo". She added in the letter a notice that tells everyone to drop off their old toilets to Hilly's house, Hilly is furious! After this Skeeter loses the people that used to be her friends, but Skeeter doesn’t mind because she knows she is doing the right thing. -
The Benefit
At the Junior League's benefit there is a little bit of drama. Celia gets drunk and begs Hilly to let her join the league. But she just ends up making it worse because she rips Hilly's dress and vomits on the floor. By doing this Celia considers leaving Johnny because she doesn’t think she is good enough for him, but Minny convinces her to stay. -
Minny Tells What She Did
Skeeter and everyone else needs to make sure that nobody will know that the stories are from Jackson. Minny has a gutsy idea. She decides that they have to put in the terrible, awful thing she did to Hilly. If they put that in the story, she will do anything to convince people that it isn’t from Jackson. Minny made one of Hilly's favorite chocolate pies but she added a special ingredient, her poo. Hilly didn’t only eat one piece she ate two! -
Skeeter is Heartbroken
Finally Skeeter is told the truth about Constantine. It seems that Skeeter's mom fired her, but claims to have had no choice. Skeeter also gets told that they sent her brother up to go and bring Constantine home, but she had died. -
Proposal Gone Wrong
Stuart proposes to Skeeter, and she says yes! But Skeeter hadn't told him about her book. He is mad and takes back the proposal. Skeeter and Stuart are not together anymore. -
Publishing Time! CLIMAX
Skeeter got word earlier that Elaine Stein is going to publish the book. Immediately after the book comes out Hilly thinks that the book is about Jackson, and starts blaming the maids for writing it. All until she reached the last chapter, the one with the pie. Then she goes around telling everyone that the book couldn't be about Jackson. The plan worked! -
Good Things for Minny
Celia finally decides to tell Johnny the truth about everything. About her miscarriages and Minny working there. But he already knew that! He tells minny that she has a job at their house for the rest of her life! -
Skeeter's Big Choice
After the book gets published Elaine Stein offers Skeeter a writing job in New York. Skeeter didn’t know if she could leave Aibileen and Minny now once she has stirred up trouble with the book. -
Hilly's Revenge for Minny!
Hilly confronts Skeeter about the book and says that she will get revenge on all of them! First on Minny, Hilly arranges for Minny's husband Leroy to get fired and to be told that it was Minny's fault. Leroy then tries to kill Minny, so Minny and her kids left and started looking for a new house. They ended up finding one close to Minny's work. -
Hilly's Not Done Yet!
Hilly gives Aibileen a little revenge too. She convinces Elizabeth that Aibileen wrote the book. She even tries to frame Aibileen for stealing some of Elizabeth's silver but that didn't go through. Aibileen is ok with being fired though because she is going to start a new life as a writer. -
Skeeter's Made Up Her Mind!
Aibileen and Minny convince Skeeter to take the job in New York. Skeeter gets Aibileen her Miss Myrna column so she can keep writing, and start a new life. Skeeter takes the job. -
