Hazel Goes To A Support Group.
Hazel doesn't want to do anything or go anywhere, because she is terminally ill with lung cancer. She sits in her room all day and reads most of the time. Her mom makes her get out of bed and go to the support group. -
Hazel Meets Augustus
One of the times Hazel is in the support group, her friend Issac, who has eye cancer, brings a friend with him. The boy will not stop staring at Hazel throughout the whole meeting. After the meeting Hazel confronts him. They talk for awhile and Augustus invites her over to his house to watch a movie, in which she agrees to. -
Hazel Goes To Augustus's house.
Hazel Goes to Augustus's house where they watch a movie and he suggest a book for her to read. Hazel tells him she will read it if he reads one of her favorite books "An Apperal Affliction". They both agree to do so. -
Augustus finishes "An Apperal Affliction" and contacts author.
Once Augustus finishes reading "An Apperal Affliction" he is confused when the story stops dead in the midst of a sentence. Augustus calls Hazel and talks with Hazel about why the story ended mid sentence like that. Hazel does not know no one knows what happens next Peter Van Houten the author has not since wrote a book since "An Apperal Affliction" was published. Hazel has tried time after time to get in touch with Mr. Van Houten, so Augustus gets in contact with his assistant. -
E-mails and Peter Van Houten.
Augustus gets in contact with Peter Van Houten's assitant who gives him Peters email address. Augustus calls Hazel and gives her Peter's email address, in which hazel writes a letter to Peter explaining everything, and asks for answers. In the end of this event Peter's assistant replies saying that Peter would love to tell Hazel what happens next but it has to be done in person, so Peter knows nothing will be recorded. But at last things turn south. -
Danger and Amsterdam
Augustus hasn't used up his wish from the genes (organization) so he and he tells Hazel that she can use his wish buthe wasn't giving her his wish. The plan was going to Amsterdam for a week but Hazel lungs fill up with fluid one night and the doctors don't know if she'll be able to go or not. -
Trip To Amsterdam
After much talk the doctors agree that only three days may she go to Amsterdam so her mother, Hazel, and Augustus fly to Amsterdan to meet Peter Van Houten. While in Amsterdam Hazel and Augustus both go on a date at a fancy resturant before they meet Peter. When they meet Peter they find out he isn't a nice guy at all he's rude and a drunk. Hazel then looses it and starts yelling at him. -
Augustus's annoucement
While still being in Amsterdam Augutus tells Hazel some bad news- his cancers back. He doesn't have long to live. -
Last Days
During the last days of Augustus's life Hazel spends it with Augustus. A few weeks after Augustus told her the news and a couple weeks of getting sicker and sicker Augustus Waters dies. Leaving Hazel very destrate and upset. -
The News
The day of the funeral Hazel has to speak at his funeral, while she is speaking she sees Peter Van Houten in the audience. Once the funeral is over she pushed Houten away because of how rude he was to them in Amsterdam. Houten then tells her his daughter died of cancer the book, "An Apperal Affliction" was about a girl with cancer same as Hazels which she already knew but did not know that Van Houten knew the feeling. -
The Letter
A few weeks later Hazel had been pushing that Augustus had written her the epiogue of "An Apperial Affliction" that Augustus had promised he would write to Hazel back in Amsterdam. She talked to Van Houten's Assistant and she said that she had found a letter from Augustus and in that letter to Peter Van Houten was the epilouge that she so much wanted.
