  • Jpanese Headquarters at Jahor

    The Japanese Cammander at the palace of the sultan of Jahor. From there he could see all of the land he was attacking. He set up there knowing that the British had an easy targeyt but rhey would not fire at their freind, Sultan Ibrahim.
  • Attack of Pulau Ubin

    Shortly after midnight the Japanese attacked Pulau Ubin. When they attacked there was a small british resistance. By gaining Pulau Ubin the Japanese had gained an important observation area.

  • A costly mistake

    The Japanese were shipping tanks, supplies, and ammo across the Causeway. They alsorepaired the causewayso that both men and equipment counld go into Singapore easily. To prepare for the worst, Lieutenant-General A.E. Percival, made plans for his soilders to withdraw to protect the town centre. Thus in the withdraw the Japanese had a clear shot when they realised the mistake. Then the british came back half-heartedly and the Japanese already had control of most of te land so the japanese won.
  • The battle for Bukit Timah

    If the Japanese broke through at Bukit Timah, then the southern part of Singapore including town cetre would be open to them. There, some of the feircest fighting took place. The Chinese poele volunteered to fight for the British. Later the Japanese took revenge on the Chinese by killing the men, women, and children that they encountered along the way.
  • The battle of Pasir Panjang

    There some men fought bravely most of the japanese were wounded of killed. The next day some Japanese tried to disquies them selves as the Indian troops. It was Lt. Adnan bin Saidi who noticed the fourth row instad of the threes that the British walked in. He ordered his men to open fire. Some were kiled and the rest fleed down the hill. The Japanese were soon able to surround the hill. They were soon fighting with baonets. Lt. Adnan bin Saidi was caught and stabbed to death.
  • The Massacre at Alexandria Hospital

    The Japanese marched into Alexandria Hospital, which at that time was in British possesion. There the Japanese massacred or brutally killed the docters, hospital staff, patients and even a British Corporal who was lying on the operation table.
  • Decision at Fort Caning

    It was chinese New Year and there was a meeting underground in Fort Caning. Percival wanted to discuss ways to counter-attack but his commanders disagreed. More men would be killed if the engaged the Japanese in street fights. Furthermore their food and water supplies were running out.
  • British surrender

    To prevent futhur blood sheed the british surrendered to the Japanese at Fort Motor factory at bukit Timah. The surrender marked the fall of the "Impregnable" Fortress.
