she askes her parents about hannah. her parents tell her hannah was their daughter who ran away when she was 18. hannah showed up at their door one day with a three year old girl named janie. so they decided to keep janie for their own. janie thougjt there was more to the story. -
first day at school
janie bought milk at schhol and saw the picture of the missing child and it looked like her. the girls name was jenny spring -
janie does research on her biological family
janie reads articals about the kidnapping at the library.she learns she has 4 siblings. she keeps seeing herself wearin the polka dot dress. -
janie goes to new jersey with reeve
instead of going to school reeve and janie go to new jersey.they find the name spring in the phone book and drive to the adress.but janie refueses to meet her family. she knows they are her family because the children that are getting off the bus have red hair like hers. -
when janie calls her bilogical parents
janie and her parents call the springs and she said "hi. its ... your daughter. me. jennie." -
the next week
the next week she acts weird around her parents. -

reeve and janie liked eachother and he gave her a kiss. -
janie learns about hannah
janies parents are out of the house. janie goes to the attic to see if she can find anything out about jennie on the milk carton. she finds an old chest that has pictures, school papers that belong to hannah. there was polka dot dress that was the same dress jennie was wearing in the picture.
