The beginning of my bilingual evolution

Strolls and picnics at the park where I would be immersed in the English Language and some Spanish.

My Baby sitter spoke only spanish.

The ariival of my brother Mark. Through our childhood we spoke only in English.

Granny complained in Spanish and loved me in Englsih.

Eventhough the church had a Spanish name I went to mass spoken in Englsih.

The first morning of our visit I spoke and everyone made a face. No one knew what I was saying. I had to make a very big effort to communicate. It was a bit frustrating because they laughed at almost every word that came out of my mouth.

A culture diversity and only language spoken in school.

Our home during this period of time was "English only".

Exposure to Spanish non-existent. Little did I know that a year from today I will be moving to Puerto Rico.

One year has already passed and I haven't spoken almost any English. -
I'm the only one who speaks English and I must teach my child to speak English.
