On 1st November at 2 pm, two pro-independence militants simply walked up to Blair House, where the Truman family was staying whilst the White House underwent renovations, and started shooting. 33rd US President Harry Truman was having an afternoon nap on the second floor of Blair House when the shooting began. He looked out his window to see the second shooter on the front steps.

The Korean War begins when North Korea invaded South Korea in June. The country had previously been divided after the end of World War II with the North becoming Communist and the South remaining Capitalist. This war didn't end until 1953.
