    At first, Anne talks about politics and says that usually she would not to that. Then, she adds that Peter and she talked often and that they are very good friends. She says that together they discuss every imaginable subject. He actually thinks that women are pretty tough.

    In 1944, Hungarian authorities ordered about 500 000 Hungarian Jews who lived outside of Budapest which at the time, was the center of Hungarian Jewish cultural life, to gather into cities in order to send them easily to Nazi German concentration camps.

    On Saturday, 1st April, 1944, Anne has a lot of questions about her relationship with Peter. She wonders if he thinks of her like more than a friend. She also reminds herself that she is strong and will survive what is happening in her life.

    The Soviet Union wanted to defeat Nazi Germany, it’s allies and therefore entered Romania crossing the Put river. However, in 1944 there is a coup d’état in Romania thus putting the country on the side of the Allies.

    The French committee of National Liberation was formed on June 3rd 1943. It’s main goal was to unite all the French forces that fought Nazi. In 1944, the committee reorganizes, Charles de Gaulle becomes president and incorporates members of different political parties.

    In her journal, Anne talks about how the food has become a very difficult and important matter in the world. She says that they eat a lot of potatoes and beans but that they don’t get any fresh vegetables. She ends the day by saying that although the food isn’t good… They’re still alive!

    Anne Frank has a pretty emotional and overwhelming day on April 4th, 1944.. She realizes that she doesn’t to live a life like her mom’s or Mrs. Van Daan and all the other women who work but are forgotten. She wants her life to have purpose and she says that she wishes to go on living even after her death.

    In 1944, the British government ends telephone service to Ireland and distribution of newspapers to Ireland and Gibraltar. In fact, British people were worried about leakage of military information because Ireland and Gibraltar were neutral regarding the war, thus not taking position between the allies and the Nazi.

    To improve the efficiency of tax collection after 5 years of expensive war, Britain decides to adopt a pay-as-you-an taxation. Employers would then have the obligation to deduct taxes from their employees pay.

    On Thursday, 6th April, 1944, Anne talked about her hobbies. She says that she has heaps of them and names some. Her first interest is writting, although she doesn’t consider it as a hobby. Her second favorite occupation is family trees, she adds that she’s been searching for family trees of many royal families from different countries for a long time. She also talks about her other passions.
