    Rebecca tells of how her parents met. She described their home life and how they were interested in eachother. The time they went on their first date they fell in love. They soon married and her mother became pregnant. They were overjoyed, until an accident occured and they lost the baby. The doctor told them she would not be able to bear children anylonger. So they decided to move to Sellerstown, North Carolina where her fathe became the pastor of the only church in the tiny town.

    Luckily, her mother became pregnant again, and it was Rebecca who survived as the second child. At the church, there was a man who disliked her dad and was also their neighbor. He started calling the family and sending threatning letters to get them to leave which never worked. These awful acts lasted for five years, when they started getting out of control which is when her mom had another child, Daniel.

    The evil neighbor sent some friends to go cut the Alonzo's car tires, and blast small dynamite in their large country yard. It scared them so badly, but they didn't let that show. Her father continued to preach and not leave. The threats stopped for about 6 months until one night a gunman shot with a machine gun through their house during the night, luckily no one was hurt. This made her father angry at the neighbor but he still didn't budge.

    The threatnings were small for two years, and the entire town thought all hell was gone. Except for one afternoon during a family lunch, he cme in and shot both Rebeccas mom and dad., then held them captive. Rebecca ran in the bursting summer heat to get help. Luckily no one died, but there are scars on theit hearts. This experience helped thwm get closer to God, and helped Rebecca to forgive.
