Mr.____'s son, Harpo is married with children to Sofia. Sofia is a rather bigger girl compared to Harpo and much stronger. Harpo tries to beat Sofia, as his father recommends because she does not listen to what he says. Sofia is fed up with him always trying to beat her so she takes the children and leaves.

Shug finds out that Mr.____ beats Celie so she decides to stay. Celis and Shug are much more closer and intimate.

Sofia comes back to find out that Harpo has a new girl. The mayors wife asks Sofia if she wants to work for them and when Sofia denies rudely the mayor slaps her. Sofia defends herself and by doing so is sentenced 12 years to be the mayors maid.

Shug Avery comes back but with a husband one day. That does not stop Celie and her's relationship.

Celie tells Shug of the letters that Nettie said she was going to write. But since Celie though she was dead she didn't think much if it. Shug says that she would sometimes see Mr.____ hiding some mail that came in.

Shug and Celie find the letters from Nettie that he hood from Celie. Celie is furious at Mr.____ and even wants to kill him.

Nettie went to Africa with a couple that she met, Corrine and Samuel. The couple adopted two kids. Corrine starts to suspect something is happening between Samuel and Nettie since the two children look very similar to Nettie.

After all the suspicion of the two children, Nettie finds out something. The two adopted children are actually Celie's children that she though Fonso killed. She also finds out that Fonso is not their real father, only stepfather.

Shug tells Mr.___ that her and Celie are moving to Tennessee along with Squeak, Harpo's recent girlfriend. There, Celie starts to sew and design. Whic later on turned into a business.

After Corrine's death, Nettie and Samuel marry and finally come back to America. And finally seeing her sister again.
