After World war ll,Soviets were still in peace with The United States but tension began to surface. Everyone was paranoid as a result of the World War and no one could really trust eachother. Both countries had fairly opposing political, social and religious viewpoints, thus a 'metaphorical' war started.The cold war was never actual war, but rather Soviets and Americans fighting through other things to get back at eachother without any actual war.

Winston Churchails speech dropped a heavy vail on the relations of the Soviets and The Americans. This is considered a key point in the start of the war.

Communist power grew which also allowed Americans fear of the spread of communism to grow too. Suspense and tension only stretched tighter when new dissagrements rose.

The "Red Scare" was a state of histeria that took over much of the U.S, during the 1940's- 1950's in response to a communism spreading around the country. Senator McCarthy investigated most of the "supposed" communist that were taken. He led this reign leveled charges of disloyalty at celebrities, and anyone who disagreed with his political views, costing many of his victims their reputations and jobs. This soon became known "McCarthyism".

The Soviet Union created a land and water blockade in an attempt to force the allies out of West Berlin. Supplies were airlifted to about 2 million people in West Berlin from 1948-49. About 277,000 flights were made within the two years, dropping somewhere around 8,000 tons of supplies per day.

Soviet Russia and The U.S began a 'race' for who could succssfully make it to the moon and back. They both fought hard in a technological battle into the solar system. The U.S eventually 'won' by sending a Human (Niel Armstrong) to moon and back. It was a major milestone in Human History and was widley known around the world.

To breifly summarize, this war was America against South Veitnam. The United States wanted to stop the uprising of communism in South Veitnam but they were not about to just let someone come in and take over, so they fought back.

Led by university students,over one million chinese citiznes marched on Tiananmen Square to voice their discontent with the government. However when govenment officials refused to see them a mass boycott of universitys occured.
