The Black Panthers was a political group founded in 1966. It was founded by Huey Newton and Bobby Seale. They founded it to challenge police brutality against African Americans. They organized armed citizen patrols in different cities. -
James Meredith was a civil rights activist who was shot. He was the first African American student to attend The University of Mississippi. He was shot by a sniper after starting his own civil rights March through the south known as March Against Fear.
