    The Brown V. Board of Education case addressed about a girl named Linda Brown. She was denied admission to a school in Topkea, Kansas because of her race. The case was later than ruled unconstitutional. This was because it violated the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment.

    The leader of the Boycott was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. King had encouraged people to continue there protesting. he was very certain that the public opinion would force the government to end slavery. Slavery and segregation was wrong, and this Boycott proved that.

    A school board in Little Rock, Arkansas, had won a court order that required that 9 African American students would be admitted to Central High School. Where at he school, there were 2,00 white students. The Governor, Orval Faubus had troops prevent the students from entering the school. Eisenhower did not like what the governor did. he immediately sent troops to little rock, where the nine students were able to enter the school but were taken in an army station wagon.

    The sit in movement involved 4 college students. There names were Joseph McNeil, Ezell Balir Jr., David Richmond, and Franklin McCain. They always met up to talk about the civil rights movement. What they did was that they were going to sit-in an all whites lunch counter in the nearby Woodworth's department store.

    James Meredith was an African American air force veteran who applied for a transfer to the University of Mississippi. JFK had responded to not letting him register by having dispatched 500 federal marshals to escort James to campus.

    Life was not great for African Americans living in urban areas. They lived in poor neighborhoods, major cities were very over crowded and dirty, This lead to higher illness rates. Poverty also took effect and this meant low paying jobs. The Black Panthers was founded by a group of college students. The Black Panthers believed that a revolution was necessary in the United States, and they urged African Americans to arm themselves and prepare to force whites to grant them equal rights.
