    He was a German zoologist. He made the discovery of the organic nature of yeast, and the invention of the term metabolism.

    He was a German pathologist and he was referred to as the "Father of Pathology". He also came up with the now popular medical idea, "Omnis cellula e cellula", or "Every cell originates from another cell".
