  • The Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763

    The proclamation of 1763 was Britain's announcement to the people that they were not allowed to settle outside a of a certain point of their western land. The bites did this because they did not want any conflict with any Indian settlers and start another war they couldn't finance. The American settlers though were unhappy with this as they felt they rightfully owned that part of the land and felt they should be allowed to colonize it.

    In order to regain the wealth of the country back from the French and Indian wars, Great Britain decided to tax the American colonies of products such as sugar, foreign wines, coffee textiles and even indigo brought in from foreign countries.

    The Stamp Act was an act that required a tax on almost all paper items. Such as Playing cards, Calendars, Alamac's, Legal documents, everything.

    The Townshend acts required a tax on resources such as glass, lead, tea, paper and paint this also allowed colonial legislators to get some of the revenue form the taxes so sense they were paid extra because of the taxes, they refused to try and get rid of them.

    The intolerable acts was an act that allowed no one access to the sea until the economic loss of the tea was paid. which would lead to economic ruin as the colonist can make money via trade and they also cant fish or really go anywhere.

    The Boston tea party, as a result of built-up anger over disagreements, was an act of rebellion made by the colonists where during the night, disguised as Indian workers, boarded three of the vessels containing tea and dumped 342 canisters of the tea into the harbor.
