    Involved the shooting of unarmed college students by the Ohio National Guard on Monday, May 4, 1970. Some of the students who were shot had been protesting the Cambodian Campaign, a series of military operations conducted in eastern Cambodia during the Vietnam War, under President Richard Nixon.

    Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty
    A treaty, signed by the U.S, and the U.S.S.R., restricting the use of nuclear weapons.
  • Watergate Plumbers

    Watergate Plumbers
    President Nixon had a group of "followers" that had broken into Watergate (the democratic headquarters) and placed eavesdropping devices in order to, possible, sabotauge the election that he was already going to win.
  • Abortion Legalized

    Abortion Legalized
    A landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court on the issue of abortion. The Court ruled 7–2 that a right to privacy under the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment extended to a woman's decision to have an abortion, but that this right must be balanced against the state's two legitimate interests in regulating abortions: protecting women's health and protecting the potentiality of human life.

    Nixon Resigned
    During the Waergate scandel, NIxon was accused of taking part and order to turn his tape recordings (of all his conversations) to the supreme court. He refused and later resigned from presidency rather than being impeached.

    Direct U.S. military involvement ended on 15 August 1973. The capture of Saigon by the North Vietnamese Army in April 1975 marked the end of the war, and North and South Vietnam were reunified the following year.
